CodeGuard's four plans all ship the exact same feature set — daily backups plus automatic malware detection and removal — and only differ by site count and storage. WP Safer takes a different bet: no automatic malware cleanup, but uptime monitoring, an admin firewall, update verification with rollback and a unified maintenance report are included on every plan instead.
CodeGuard is a straightforward backup-and-malware service: every tier (Personal through Small Business) gets daily automatic backups, “malware detection and remediation”, client access and reports, WordPress plugin updates and unlimited restores — the only thing that changes between the cheapest and the most expensive plan is how many sites and how much storage you get.
WP Safer doesn't try to match CodeGuard's automatic malware removal — it checks file integrity and flags what changed, but doesn't clean an infected file for you. Every update is re-checked, and a broken one is rolled back
This is the Plugins tab of a site in WP Safer: which plugins have an update waiting, where each one stands on known vulnerabilities, and one button to update them all. After an update runs the site is re-checked, and if two consecutive checks confirm the update broke it, that plugin is rolled back to its previous version on its own. CodeGuard installs WordPress plugin updates too, but publishes no post-update check and no rollback.

Malware cleanup or full site health?
If what you need most is “if something gets infected, clean it automatically” at a flat low price regardless of tier, CodeGuard's model is built exactly for that. If you'd rather catch problems before they need cleaning — uptime drops, a broken update, an unexpected admin-area login — and want one monthly report that shows all of it, that's what WP Safer's plans are built around.

Frequently asked questions
Does CodeGuard remove malware automatically, or just detect it?
CodeGuard's own plan pages describe “malware detection and remediation” on every tier, meaning it aims to both find and clean infected files. WP Safer doesn't offer this — it checks WordPress core and component files against their published checksums and flags anything that changed, but doesn't remove malicious code for you.
Does CodeGuard monitor uptime?
Not according to its published plans — CodeGuard's feature list is centered on backup, malware and client reporting. WP Safer includes uptime and performance monitoring on every paid plan, with checks as frequent as every 30 seconds on the Agency plan.
Why do CodeGuard's cheaper plans have the same features as the expensive ones?
CodeGuard's four tiers (Personal through Small Business) all include the same daily backups, malware remediation, client reporting and plugin updates — the only differences are how many sites you can manage and how much storage you get.
