When the report is generated and sent

The report covers the previous calendar month and is sent during the first seven days of the next one, once per account, to your account address. Why a report sometimes does not arrive, and the two ways to open one without waiting for the e-mail.

The maintenance report is not something you start. It follows the calendar: a month ends, and a few days later the report for that month is in your inbox.

Which month, and when

The report always covers the previous calendar month, from its first day to its last. It is sent during the first seven days of the month that follows. Within that window WP Safer works through accounts a batch at a time, so the exact hour varies; there is no fixed minute to wait for.

The seven-day window is also a limit. If sending were delayed for any reason, last month's report is not going to turn up on the 20th — by then it would be news nobody needs.

Each account gets one report per month. Being counted twice is not possible, and a report cannot arrive for a month that has not finished.

Who receives it

It goes to the e-mail address on your WP Safer account, in the language your account is set to. There is one recipient: WP Safer does not send reports directly to your clients on your behalf, and there is no list of extra addresses. If your client should see the report, you forward the e-mail or send them the link — which is exactly what the link is for.

Which plans

The monthly maintenance report is part of the paid plans (Starter, Pro and Agency). On the free plan it is not sent, and the report screens are shown locked rather than hidden, so you can see what they contain before deciding.

On Agency the report also carries your own branding — see choosing what goes into the report.

When no report arrives

A missing report almost always has one of these explanations:

  • Nothing was measured that month. If none of your sites produced uptime checks in the reported month — monitoring was off, or the sites were connected after the month ended — no e-mail is sent at all. An empty report is worse than none.
  • The report is switched off for your account. The switch is on Monitoring → Alert channels.
  • Your plan does not include it, or it changed during the month.
  • You have no connected sites.

If you switch the report back on while the sending window is still open — that is, within the first seven days of the month — it goes out on one of the following runs that same month. Turning it off does not mark the month as done.

There is no “send it again” button

Reports are not queued, stored and re-sent. Instead there are two ways to get at one outside the monthly e-mail, and both are immediate:

  • Open the report yourself. Monitoring → Report template has an Open last report button, which opens last month's report in the browser. It is the same document your e-mail links to, and you can share the address or save it as a PDF.
  • See a sample. On Monitoring → Alert channels, the monthly report card has a See a sample button. It renders the real e-mail from your own data for last month, exactly as it would be sent — not a made-up example. If there were no measurements, it says so instead of showing invented figures.

Each monthly e-mail keeps its own link, so a forwarded e-mail from three months ago still opens that month's report.
