Before you buy: the questions we are asked most

The permanent free plan, how many sites you need to pay for, monthly against annual, currency and tax, payment methods, buying without an account, refunds, what happens if you stop paying, and the support you get.

The questions people ask us before they pay, answered without a sales pitch. If you are already a customer, the other pages in this section go further: plans and limits, managing your subscription, payments and receipts.

Can I try it without paying?

Yes, and not as a countdown. The Free plan is permanent: one WordPress site, 100 MB of backup space, scheduled full and incremental backups, uptime monitoring every five minutes with e-mail alerts, a Site Health score and a PageSpeed report. No card is asked for at sign-up.

There is no separate time-limited trial of the paid plans. Free is the way to see whether the panel does what you need on a real site of yours, and if you then buy a plan, everything you set up stays where it is.

Do I have to install something to buy?

No. You buy a plan first and connect sites afterwards. Managing a site does need the free WP Safer plugin installed on it — that is what the panel talks to — and the whole of that is one screen: add a WordPress site.

How many sites do I need to pay for?

The plans are 1 site free, 5 on Starter, 25 on Pro, 100 on Agency. Count the sites you want backed up, updated and monitored, not the domains you own — a site you never connect costs nothing.

If you outgrow a plan later you buy the bigger one and ask us to cancel the smaller: no migration, no re-setup, and the bigger allowance is live the moment the payment is recorded.

Monthly or annual?

Both are offered on every paid plan, and the switch above the cards on the pricing page flips the whole page. Annual is one payment for twelve months and is cheaper than twelve monthly payments — up to a third less, depending on the plan.

One thing rides on the choice rather than on the plan: the self-service migration wizard is included with annual billing on the paid plans, not with monthly. If you already know you want to move a site, that is worth weighing.

What does it cost in my currency?

Prices are set in US dollars and your bank converts at its own rate. Any VAT or sales tax for your country is calculated at checkout by Polar, our payment provider, and added to the total you confirm. Nothing appears on the bill that you did not see first.

Which payment methods do you take?

Payments are handled by Polar as merchant of record, and the methods available depend on your country; the checkout lists them before you enter anything. Your card details are never stored by WP Safer. The seller line on your statement is Polar's, not ours.

Do I need an account before I pay?

No. You can buy straight from the pricing page as a guest, giving your e-mail address at checkout, and the account is created for you with a link to set a password. If you already have an account, pay with the address you sign in with so the plan lands on the account you are already using.

Is there a contract or a minimum term?

No. Monthly is one month, annual is one year, and both renew until you stop them. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, with no notice period and no exit fee — see cancelling your subscription.

What if I change my mind after paying?

We refund a paid plan in full, on request, within 14 days of your first purchase. EU consumers additionally have the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal, set out with the proportionate-payment rule in the Distance Sales Agreement.

What happens if I stop paying later?

Nothing is deleted. Your sites stay connected and your existing backups stay in your account. The account falls back to Free limits, so the automated work — automatic updates, the faster checks, bulk actions, reports — stops until a plan covers it again. Sites above the Free allowance keep running; you just cannot connect new ones. The full picture is on the cancellation page.

Can I buy more backup space without changing plan?

Yes. Storage packs of 500 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB are sold separately on the pricing page and added on top of your plan's space as soon as the payment is recorded. Your site allowance does not change, and a pack can be cancelled on its own.

What support do I get?

Every plan can write to info@wpsafer.com or use the contact form, and the response targets go up with the plan — community support on Free, then a 48-hour target on Starter, 24 hours on Pro and 4 hours on Agency. Before you write, it is worth searching these docs: most of what support answers is written down here.

Where is my data kept?

The application and its database run in Germany (Hetzner) and backup files are stored in the Netherlands (DigitalOcean Spaces, Amsterdam). The details, including what we keep and for how long, are in GDPR, data residency and retention.
